Ball Lost or Out of Bounds

8/24/2015

Further clarifications on lost ball:
  1. You cannot “declare” a ball lost—Nothing a player says will render their ball lost.
  2. BUT you do NOT have to search for it.   If you’re in a match, your opponents can go searching!
  3. The ball is lost if it has not been identified with 5 minutes.
The ball is lost if the provisional ball has been struck again and gone past the point where the lost ball would be.
  1. The ball is lost if the player puts another ball in play (not declaring it a provisional).
  2. You cannot use a provisional ball for a ball found and deemed unplayable---Provisional balls can only be used for lost balls or balls out of bounds.

Local Rules

The grounds crew at SSCC has done a lot of work recently and will continue to do a lot work on the bunkers.  Because of considerable improvement in the bunkers on our course-we will no longer play the ball up.
No preferred lies—However we will still consider stones as movable obstructions.
Allowing stones to be removed is a local rule-not something you would ordinarily be entitled to do.
